OUR PROCESS, YOUR HOME
Clients of Revelstoke Mountain Homes are involved in all aspects of design and construction, and exposed to the day-to-day development and progress of their home. Online collaboration, conference calls and regularly updated photography ensure clear communication and unparalleled satisfaction.

DESIGN
Whether starting from scratch or arriving at our doors with your plans, we step in at any stage. For those starting off in the process, we have developed a number of custom plans to choose from, or use as a stepping off point. Our in-house residential designer and network of architects work closely to assist in the conceptualization, development and creation of your home design. Throughout the design stage, our Project Mangers contribute cost saving solutions including construction methods, material selection and acquisition, keeping designs in check and ultimately within the dictated construction budget.

Preliminary estimating and budgeting is an integral part of our design process.

ESTIMATING / SCHEMATIC BUDGET
Our team assembles a schematic, comprehensive budget reflecting efficient means of construction and competitive pricing from our trades and suppliers. Drawings are tendered to determine actual costs. Further cost saving measures are proposed as part of the estimate process and presented as options moving forward.

SCHEDULING
Our Project Managers oversees the efficient sequence of work, while communicating project schedules to our trades and suppliers. Schedules and approved revisions are continually communicated via our website’s Client Area.

CONTRACT
Upon satisfaction of estimates/schematic budget and scheduling, a CCDC Contract (in accordance to the Canadian Construction Documents Committee standards) is created, outlining obligations, schedules, costs and timelines in accordance to the drawings and construction of your home. There are a number of options to contracting, which we investigate with each client to determine the best approach considering the complexity of the project.

PROGRESS DRAWS
On a monthly basis, a statement is submitted and outlines funds required for the upcoming phase of the construction. Requirements are based on a percentage of physical work anticipated and materials in place at that time. Our preference is to use a registered, certified, independent third-party to verify production and quality. A draw schedule is prepared prior to the initiation of the project, for your review and reference,

PURCHASING AND EXPEDITING
All material purchases are priced competitively. Delivery to the site in a timely manner is ensured by our Project Manager and Site Superintendent, minimizing damage and site congestion and maximizing building efficiency.

SITE PREPARATION AND CONSTRUCTION
As part of the process to ensure safety, our design of temporary structures such as form-work, scaffolding, and excavations is handled by professional engineers to meet the requirements of the Workers’ Compensation Board and other regulatory authorities.

The Site Superintendent oversees all on-site activities, schedules and timelines as approved by the client. As desired by the client, bi-weekly (or otherwise scheduled) client meetings are conducted to provide updates on progress and ensure on-going communications.

ON-GOING COMMUNICATIONS
Our team is always available and open to input and ideas. Our Project Manager and administrative team work to ensure constant and clear communications throughout each step of the construction experience.

A dedicated, private and secure Client Area is created and maintained for each and every RMH project. All relevant documents, including contracts, accounting records, plans, schedules, etc are loaded to the site for reference. Photography is collected and posted to provide weekly visual updates for those building from a far.

CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION
Our Project Manager oversees the legal and business aspects of our subcontracts to ensure competent performance, which meets our client’s discerning standards.

ACCOUNTING
Accounts payable are managed internally by our Certified General Accountant (CGA) who oversees monthly reporting and management of escrow accounts for added comfort and security. Reporting is provided on a consistent basis and available any time.
